A while back, I got myself a Globalstar satellite phone. I figured I could replace my cellular phone with this satellite phone that would work in those way out there places. The service is spotty, and cannot be relied on, so I’m keeping my cellular phone. After having the satellite phone for a year, I will be able to get a cheap plan and use that phone for emergencies when out in nowhere land. I’m now parked by the California coast, south of the San Francisco bay. I understand the service gets even worst, farther south, but better inland, maybe I will make it my main phone later. The phone in the cradle is a hands free setup with an external antenna so I can use the phone inside.
