My RVing Life

When I first started out, back in March, I was so stressed that I didn’t think I would make it past the spring of 2019.  I was even thinking of getting off the road and moving into an apartment.  The stress became less as time went on and as I was gaining experience.  Now the stress is gone and I’m very happy with this life style.  Those of you, who are too nervous to follow your dream as a vagabond, know you can do it!

There is no BLM LTVA service or permits being sold during the Federal shutdown.  This doesn’t mean much to me since I go to the private business Laundromat Mall for all that and I already have the permit.  There is no news of people being kicked off the land, maybe because we are self contained.

Full Hook-Up Break

I am now at Desert Vista KOA Campground for a week with full hook-ups.  For me, boondocking is easier and less stressful now that I have more experience and knowing how long supplies will last.  Now, full hook-ups is a nice luxury.  This park is not much more than a parking lot with hook-ups but I like it.  The park is next to wide open desert land, no two daily walks are the same.

Boondocking Made Easy

Before hitting the road, I went for a boondocking test run.  My grey water tank filled up too quickly.  When I back flushed, using my Flush King, I saw white globs, thinking grease from previous owner flushing out.  I then used a strong grey water tank cleaner, some more flushing and more cleaner, etc.  I’m happy to report that it paid off.  My hope was to get a setup to where my water tank would run out before my waste holding tanks filled up.  The timing is now perfect, in a week, I need to dump waste and get water and take a shower at the Laundromat Mall.  I think I could last 9 days, nice to know there is a buffer.

Busy Day

I went to town Friday to dump the waste tanks, fill up with water, did laundry, got propane, filled up with gasoline and got a mail box.  Wow, what a day.  Yesterday I did, well, nothing!  It sure is nice here in the Colorado Desert.  The weather is perfect, wide open space and lots of room between us snow birds.  I just love it here.  So far, I’m doing just fine at this boondocking, better than expected.
