I am now at the Midland Bureau of Land Management Long Term Visitor Area. I’ll be here for the winter. Only 180 bucks for the whole season! No hook-ups here and so I’ll see how well I’ll do with my boondocking skills.
I’m now at Silent Valley Club RV Resort, just south of Banning California, with full hook-ups. They have a restaurant and bar here and so I’m going to have a little fun before moving on to the Midland LTVA BLM for the winter.
After two nights at Sun & Fun RV Park, I was glad to leave. The sites were close together and there was a smell of sewage, not common but some RV parks have this problem. Then it was off to Jawbone Canyon BLM dispersed camping. I left after one night because of off highway vehicles (OHV) noise. I knew what this place was, the 4 wheel OHVs are quiet and the drivers are considerate but, the 2-cycle dirt bikes are just the opposite. This is their place, so, it was right for me to be the one to leave if I don’t like it. I am now at Sawtooth Canyon BLM campground for 2 nights. This place is for rock climbing. They seem to sit around and talk more than climb, oh well, it is their place. Next stop will be my kind of place. On the way here I missed a turn and pulled over to turn around and got stuck in some desert sand. As I was hopelessly shoveling behind the wheels, a tow truck pulled over to pull me out. Heck of a nice guy, only charged me 40 bucks, someone above must be watching over me!
I am now camped at Codorniz Recreation Area Campground, it is an ACOE campground next to H. V. Eastman Lake. Since I hold an Interagency Senior pass, I get full hookups for half price, $15 per night. I’ll be here for 2 nights.
