I am now relaxing at Antelope Valley RV Park in Delta, Utah. On the way here, I stayed a night at a truck stop. Nights at truck stops in the past have been good, not this time, a truck with a refrigerated trailer running all night parked right next to me making it hard to get any sleep. Anyway, I’m thinking of staying here at Antelope Valley Park for a month. I like it here and it’s next to a city where I can get some things done. I need to get the beast’s exhaust checked and the generator’s tail pipe fixed. I also need to get an eye exam since I haven’t done so in a long time.
I’m on my way north, it’s starting to get hot down south. I first stopped, for a night at a roadside turnout, south of Bumble Bee, AZ. Then onto Bonito Campground, Coconino National Forest, dispersed camping for a night, there was a lot of traffic on dirt roads, kicking up too much dust. Now I’m at Lees Ferry Campground NPS for 2 nights, very nice here, next to the Colorado River.
It sure is nice here at Desert Vista KOA Campground with full hook-ups, the guests are friendly and so is the staff. While planning my future travels, I have noticed a lot of RPI campgrounds in Arizona have a 15 year RV age “restriction” (mine is 32 years old!). I haven’t been in a park that had RVs that didn’t appear to belong there because of age, so I don’t know why. I sent off an email asking what restrictions, I’ll let you know of the response.
I’ll be moving on, soon, 4/12. I’ve enjoyed it here in the Sonoran Desert, quiet, solitude, warm. My BLM LTVA pass will expire 4/15 and, also, it will be getting very hot here. I think I will start out going east through Arizona, New Mexico, and maybe even Texas! Remember Desert Vista Campground in Salome AZ? I have a reservation for a week there with full hook-ups, a nice way to continue my RV adventure!
